Jeanne Robinson Dance Arts has gone through an extensive certification program to provide a new and exciting Acro Dance program to our studio. We love how well rounded and progressive this program is and are looking forward to watching our students grow even more in their dance education. Join us for Acro Dance (Ages 6 and up) or Acro Dance Preschool (Ages 3-5).

“Acrobatic Arts runs hands-on, practical training and certification courses for teachers in the art of AcroDance. Acrobatic Arts is a foundational program for AcroDance taught over 12 levels in progression; with each level building on the pervious level’s requirements. Theory classes including anatomy and choreography as well as practical classes in spotting ensure that Acrobatic Arts Certified Teachers understand how to properly introduce skills with excellent technique in a safe and fun environment. The material taught is based in true acro, preparing students to perform skills on a hard stage as part of a complete dance routine package, in 5 skill areas: Flexibility, Strength, Limbering, Balancing and Tumbling. The syllabus contains 12 levels with well thought out progressions that take students and teachers from the very beginning to advanced levels.

Innovative tools like the Acrobatic Arts App, Analyze Student and Progress Charts engage and motivate dancers and teachers to excellence. Over 3000 studios currently follow the program, representing approximately 250,000 dancers, age 3 - 50, in 21 countries! With endorsements from over 1000 dance teachers, physiotherapists, Cirque Du Soleil acrobats, and more, we are universally recognized as the best program for AcroDance. “About the AcroDance PreSchool curriculum: This curriculum focuses on physical literacy. The focus of this program includes learning the acro positions, locomotive skills (jumping, hoping, etc), balance skills, classroom behavior skills, movement concepts, cooperation and social skills. The magic is in the repetition, the report cards, coloring pages, imaginary play, fun and games.”

What goes into being Acrobatic Arts certified?

What is Acro Dance?

According to Acrobatic Arts, "AcroDance is the beautiful fusion of traditional dance and acrobatic movement. While performing, dancers should maintain an emotional connection to the movement, music and audience. Acro is not just a bunch of tricks...dancers who study AcroDance have improved balance, flexibility, stability and control. This piece choreographed and performed by Derek Piquette is an excellent example of Acro Dance!"
